McCullum impressed with the performance of Rinku Singh: reveals future plans and investments

McCullum praised Rinku, who eventually knocked off an incredible triumph over the Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday.

McCullum, who is due to take over as England's next Test head coach shared his views in post-match news conference. He said “He definitely has” (been the find of the season). Rinku is a guy that KKR will undoubtedly invest in over the next few years, and we will see him really grow and perhaps fight for bigger honors in time”

Rinku, who hit 40 on just 15, nearly led his team to win in their last league game against LSG on Wednesday at the DY Patil Stadium. Evan Lewis made a sensational grab to remove him on the last ball.

Rinku, 24, has been a revelation for KKR this season as a left-handed hitter and off-break bowler. Among other things, he hit a match-winning unbeaten 42 against the Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium.

“Not many individuals can bat in the middle order and attempt (and) pull games out of the fire as he (Rinku) has almost done for us on a couple of times this year.” Just a terrific man, and I'm very happy for him.

“I am headed in a different way with the task of being able to coach England in front of me,” McCullum said, “but I will follow all KKR lads, notably Rinku and all the players I had to do quite a bit in the previous few years.”
